Course Summary
The BSc (Hons) Acute Healthcare Practice is a stimulating and novel programme aimed at inspiring a range of practitioners who practice within acute and critical care settings.
The course enables practitioners to develop the knowledge, skills and attitudes to care for a variety of acutely ill and critically sick individuals in an articulate, competent and professional manner. Completion of the course may lead to registration as a Specialist Practitioner with the Nursing and Midwifery Council.
Content and Modules
Acute and Critical Care Practice in Context (60 Credits)
This year long module aims to develop a deep knowledge and understanding of the evidence base underpinning practice within the acute and critical care setting. The use of Simulation nurtures a clear link between theory and practice.
Preparation for Mentorship (20 Credits)
This module aims to enhance and develop the knowledge and skills to enable practitioners to competently support a wide range of learners from all health care professions whilst facilitating skills development in practice.
Evidence-Based Practice Healthcare Dissertation (40 Credits)
The dissertation module of this programme facilitates practitioners to undertake an in-depth and systematic literature review based around a question focused on an element of practice relevant to the practitioners area of practice and speciality.
